Humantay Lake Full Day
In this program we will visit one of the new tourist circuits of Cusco. The “Laguna de Humantay” is a natural attraction located in the town of Soraypampa, formerly it was only visited by those who ventured to make the trek to the snowy Salkantay, but now has become one of the most visited places by travelers, visit the lagoon of Humantay will not take you more than 1 day, the walk is easy if you already acclimatized previously in Cusco and the reward for this effort will be the wonderful landscape that is observed in this lagoon of turquoise waters.
CUSCO – MOLLEPATA – SORAYPAMPA – LAGOON HUMANTAY
The trip starts at your hotel in Cusco, our transfer will visit you between 04:00 and 05:00 in the morning, we will make a two and a half hour trip by car to the town of Mollepata, where we can have breakfast and stock up on the last provisions. After breakfast we will continue our journey for an hour and a half by car, the road we will take is dirt (trail) to reach the community of Soraypampa which is located at an altitude of 3900 meters above sea level. During the trip we will see beautiful landscapes and the impressive snow-capped mountain “Salkantay”. From Soraypampa we will start a 2 km hike. The road is ascending and it will take us about an hour and a half to two, while we walk we will see a panorama of snow-capped mountains, impressive natural landscapes and a great diversity of flora and fauna until we reach the “Laguna de Humantay” which is located at an altitude of 4200 meters above sea level.
The “Laguna de Humantay” is turquoise due to the mineral found at the bottom, the lagoon is fed by glaciers of the mountain and is considered a jewel of nature, besides delighting us with the lagoon of Humantay we can enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. We will descend walking until we reach the community of Soraypampa where we can enjoy lunch. After lunch we will start our trip back to Cusco. Our tour ends at approximately 6:30 in the evening, ending our 1 day hike to the Humantay Lagoon.
- Information prior to the departure of the tour.
- Pick up from your hotel in the morning and transfer by transport Cusco – Mollepata – Soraypampa – Cusco.
- Breakfast and semi buffet lunch.
- Professional guide English – Spanish.
- First aid kit including emergency oxygen bottle (in the car).
- Lunch (dinner).
¿What to Bring?
When preparing your luggage, remember that the rainy season in Cusco is from December to March. Winter, between May and August, is especially cold, so it is recommended to bring.
- Original passport (and International Student Identity Card (ISIC) if you request this option).
- Walking boots.
- Waterproof jacket/rain poncho.
- Fleece jacket for warmth, hat and gloves.
- Polo shirts or t-shirts

- Sun hat
- Sunscreen cream (factor 35 recommended)
- Reusable plastic bottle or metal container for water or camel bags.
- Water (only for the first 4 hours of trekking, then we will give you water beforehand.
